Softball: St. Edward sweeps DH from Timothy Christian

St. Edward swept a doubleheader from Timothy Christian on Monday, winning 16-4 and 10-0 to even their record at 9-9.

Hannah Dorley earned the win in the first game, a 3-inning affair. Mallory Rejman (2-for-3, 4 RBI), Jessy Kramp (2-for-2, 3 RBI) and Annalise Avila (2-for-2, 2 RBI) all had multiple hits. The second game also lasted 3 innings, and Kramp did not allow a hit, striking out 7. Hannah Dorley was 1-for-1 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, and Katy Davidson and Ashley Miller also scored 2 runs.

Dundee-Crown 2, McHenry 0: Sydney Ruggles threw a 2-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts in a win over McHenry.

Andrea Conway had the only RBI in the game for the Chargers (13-10, 9-4 in the Fox Valley Conference). McHenry fell to 5-12, 1-9.

Cary-Grove 10, Jacobs 9: Kelly Johnson's walk-off home run gave the Trojans (12-5, 6-4) the FVC victory after they scored 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 9-4 deficit. Johnson finished 3-for-4 and Alina Krembuszewski also had 3 hits. Emma Hill went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI.

Jacobs (10-9-1, 5-5)

CL South 13, CL Central 2: Carly Chovanec had a double, triple, home run and 4 RBI while Christina Toniolo added 3 hits with a double, home run and 5 RBI for Crystal Lake South (16-3, 9-2) in its FVC win. Brooke Kuffel added a double and an RBI for the Gators, Maddie Bush had 2 hits and 2 RBI and winning pitcher Lauren Schoen (5 IP, 5 hits, 2 Ks, 2 BBs) had a triple.

Batavia 17, Elgin 0: Cassidy Carby went 3-for-3 with a home run and 6 RBI for Batavia (13-10, 8-4). Jaelen Lisberg and Peyton Sachse also had 3 hits. Noelle Chaney, Lisberg and Kaylan Waldron combined on a 5-inning no-hitter.

West Chicago 9, Larkin 5: Brynne Farnsworth took the loss for the Royals (4-15, 2-8) allowing 7 hits while striking out 3 in 6 1/3 innings. Haley Bohne (1-2, HR, 2 RBI), Gloria Stoltz (3-4, 2 RBI) and Kiara Villa (2-4) led the offense.

Riverside-Brookfield 16, ACC 5: Ava Wilkins and Kaitlyn Carlson each had 2 hits and an RBI for Aurora Central (12-12) in its Metro Suburban loss.
