Boys track: County win for Barrington at Deerfield

Lake County invite: At Deerfield on Thursday night, Barrington won a pair of relays and boasted three individual champions in capturing the county championship with 140 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Stevenson (85).

Warren (76) Grant (62) and Mundelein (50) rounded out the top five.

Barrington won the 3,200 relay (8:05.19) with Aaron Sarkar, Jeff Hesselbein, Sean Cleary and Patrick Furlong. The Broncos took the 400 relay (43.14) with Michael Dreiling, Ray Niro, Alec Andrea and Luis Cossio IV. Barrington's Nick Laning won the 3,200 (9:07.34), his teammate Kevin Curet finished first in the 110 high hurdles (15.22), and Brad Warman took the shot put (62-1.5). Curet was second in the 300 hurdles (40.37).

Mundelein's Bobby Nuzzo was a three-time winner, capturing the 100 (10.84), 200 (22.27) and long jump (21-03.5). Warren's Branden Ellis won the high jump (6-4) and triple jump (43-07.75), and the senior was second in the 110 high hurdles (15.32). Warren's runner-up 3,200 relay (8:05.23) featured Brian Holland, Cyrus Braza, Jason Langevin and Hunter Subry.

Stevenson's Aaron Portman ran a winning 1:59.48 in the 800. His teammates Jaheel Perrin, Shane Johnson, Ahmad Dinkins and David Smolensky won the 800 relay in 1:29.65.

Grant received wins from Jason Thormo in the 400 (48.79), Bobby Cayet in the 300 hurdles (39.70) and the 1,600 relay of Thormo, Michael Smith, Justin Splitt and Cayet (3:26.61).

Others champions included Libertyville's Alex Tam in the 1,600 (4:20.76), Deerfield's Henry Boudreau in the discus (158-4) and Vernon Hills' Aidan Williamson in the pole vault (13-0). Tam was second in the 3,200 (9:08.53).
