Girls soccer: St. Charles North wins TOC title in Iowa
The St. Charles North girls soccer team brought home the 11th Annual Tournament of Champions title Saturday with a 3-1 win over Ankeny Centennial in Burlington, Iowa. The North Stars improved to 14-0-1 overall.
Burlington Central 1, Evanston 0: The Rockets literally saved their best for last as Jordan King buried the game-winning goal with just 10 seconds left to wrap up consolation play at the Naperville Invite. King scored her 97th career goal off an assist from Reagan Oller. Goalkeeper Erin Rafferty provided the Rockets (13-2) with 3 saves in her shutout bid.
Elgin 9, Addison Trail 0: The Maroons (8-7-1) cruised to a nonconference win as Emily Graves accounted for a team-high 4 assists while Kylie Graves scored 3 goals and had 1 assist. Jackie Prado and Guadalupe Sanchez each had 2 goals and Brittany Dazzo and Margie Troyke had 1 each. Brenda Acuna and Yulissa Gutierrez each had 1 assist and keeper Joana Mercado recorded a shutout without any saves.
