Baseball: Benet, Glenbard South, Lisle win

Benet 9-17, St. Patrick 2-0:

The Redwings (7-6, 3-1) rolled to a pair of East Suburban Catholic victories. Dolan Glasgow and Aaron Staehely went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI in the opener while Connor Hincks, Staehely and Nick Hoeppel drove in 2 runs in the second game. Jared Novak and Jack Rodi were the winning pitchers.

Glenbard South 7, Riverside-Brookfield 6:

The Raiders (6-9, 4-3) were walk-off winners in the Metro Suburban as Logan Barnick singled home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Glenbard South rallied from a 6-2 deficit, sending the game to extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Barnick, Drew Vozza and Mike Paprota, who drove in 3 runs, all had 2 hits. Tyler Rush was the winning pitcher in relief.

Lisle 9, Holy Trinity 0:

Sam Russo pitched a 5-inning 4-hitter with 2 strikeouts and no walks for the Lions (9-7). Damien Guerrero, who had 2 RBI, and Emmett Malavia had 2 hits apiece.

Lake Park 7, Naperville North 2:

Zach Aehlert hit his fifth home run and drove in 2 runs for the Lancers (9-4, 6-2). Anthony Baturin went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. A.J. Dallman pitched 5 innings to earn the win while Ryan Behling closed with 2 innings of scoreless relief.

Naperville North 3, Wheaton North 2:

Cliff Vickers went 2-for-3 with a run scored as the Huskies (8-5, 2-4) built a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning of their DuPage Valley victory. Jared Dunnett earned the victory and Vickers the save with a scoreless seventh inning.

Wheaton North 3, Metea Valley 2:

The Falcons (10-5, 6-2 DuPage Valley) broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Joe Klein went 2-for-3 and Mike Sullivan had 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Jackson Pastore scattered 4 hits in 6⅔ innings. Andrew Cronin went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for Metea Valley (5-8, 2-6).

Wheaton Academy 2-1, Aurora Central 0-4:

The Warriors (5-8, 3-3) scored both their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in the opener of the Metro Suburban doubleheader. Peter Crowe and winning pitcher Payton Sowa drove in the runs. Max Martin pitched the seventh for the save. Jake Koslosky homered in the second game.

Glenbard North 8, Rolling Meadows 0:

Winning pitcher Francesco Sepede, Isaiah Thordarson and Brandon Gonzales combined on the shutout for the Panthers (5-7). J.P. Palmer went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Willowbrook 6, Hinsdale Central 2:

Jack Hines went 2-for-3 and Ryan Mintz drove in 2 runs for the Warriors (9-6). Dax Meyer struck out six in 6 innings. Peter Mercurio went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Hinsdale Central (5-8).

York 9, Leyden 5:

The Dukes (10-4) rallied to victory by scoring 4 runs in the fifth inning and 2 runs in the sixth. Jake Hadawi, who drove in 3 runs, Andrew Deardurff, Anthony Scalzitti and Mike Achepohl all had 2 hits. Henry Judge and Joey Chiappetta combined on the mound.

Timothy Christian 3, Chicago Christian 2:

After scoring all their runs in the bottom of the first, the Trojans (9-7, 4-3) held on in the Metro Suburban. Connor Gwaltney came an out away from a complete-game victory. Brady Klooster notched the save. Nick Huisman drove in 2 runs.
