Baseball: Bartlett knocks off Batavia

Matt Ande allowed just 1 hit and 1 earned run over six innings Friday as Bartlett downed Batavia 4-3 in Upstate Eight Conference baseball action.

Joey Tomazin (2 hits, RBI) and Andrew Fehr (RBI) led the offense for the Hawks (2-5, 1-0).

Andrew Fehr picked up the save for Bartlett.

Carter Gette had the only hit for Batavia (6-3, 3-1). Blake Carlson drove in a run for the Bulldogs and Jack Meyers was the losing pitcher.

Harvest Christian 12, South Beloit 0: Dylan Lockwood (3 hits, 2B, 2 RBI) and Brock Wilken (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI) led the Lions to this Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Joey Pepper added 2 RBI for Harvest and Gilbert Duran picked up the win on the mound, going 4 innings and allowing 2 hits with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. Game 2 of the scheduled doubleheader was called due to the weather with Harvest (7-3, 4-1) leading 7-1 after two innings.

Aurora Christian 10, Dixon 3: Trey Madsen had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Eagles (9-1) picked up a nonconference win. Sam Tickel (2 hits), Clark Turek (2 hits, Zach Zavasnik (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Hunter Thompson (2 RBI) also contributed for AC. Jake Kuntzendorf was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.
