Blackhawks assign six to red-hot Rockford IceHogs

The Blackhawks announced Sunday that they assigned forwards John Hayden, Andreas Martinsen, David Kampf and Victor Ejdsell, and goaltenders Jeff Glass and J-F Berube to the Rockford IceHogs.

They will be eligible to participate in the Calder Cup playoffs, which begin next week.

Rockford is 12-3-1-1 in its last 17 games and 39-26-4-4 overall. With 86 points, the fourth-place IceHogs are just 3 behind the first-place Chicago Wolves and 2 behind Manitoba and Grand Rapids. They are also 5 points ahead of fifth-place Milwaukee. The top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.

Lance Bouma has 6 goals and 6 assists in 17 games since being assigned to Rockford. Five of those goals came in the last eight games. Tyler Sikura, meanwhile, has 6 goals and 7 assists in the last 11 games. He has 22 goals on the season.

D-man Adam Clendening (2G, 5A in three games) was the AHL player of the week for March 25-31. He has 4 goals and 25 assists in 35 games since being acquired from Arizona in the Richard Panik deal on Jan. 10.

Rockford closes its season at Iowa on Tuesday, vs. the Wolves on Friday and at the Wolves on Saturday.
