Boys lacrosse: Grayslake North goes 4-2 in Florida

Grayslake North's boys lacrosse team returned from its Florida swing with a 4-2 record after splitting two games during the week.

The Knights opened with a 15-11 win over Saint John Paul II Academy, as freshman Nicholas Fish had 7 goals and 2 assists, while Marquette-commit Matt Carr had 3 goals and 5 assists. Michael Trabulsy added a pair of goals and an assist. Tony Rodriguez, Tayo Oladunmoye, Kyle Peterson and Zach Carter each chipped in a goal. Ryan Sheehan made 7 saves in net.

Grayslake North followed up with a 10-9 loss to Boca Rato, failing to protect a 9-3 lead at halftime.

Trabulsy and Fish each had 2 goals and an assist. Carr, Cory Pech, Rodriguez and Mike Brown also scored. The defense was led by Sheehan in net as well as Kyle Bosshart, Jackson Bielinski, Trevor Propeck, Carter and Payton Taylor.

For the two games in Florida, Carr was an incredible 47 for 53 (88 percent) from the faceoff circle.

Next up for the Knights will be a home game against Stevenson on Monday night.

Grayslake North then plays at St. Viator on Friday. Knights coach Brad Fish said it will be the first non-championship live telecast of a lacrosse game in Illinois. The action can be seen on Comcast SportsNet CN100 at 7:30 p.m.
