Girls soccer: St. Charles East, North each win

The St. Charles East girls soccer team mounted a 4-0 win over Elgin Tuesday in Upstate Eight River action.

Kathryn Hill notched a hat trick of assists for the Saints (3-1-2, 1-0) while Ashley DiOrio, Kayla Villa, Renee Unterberg and Megan Stout each tallied goals against the Maroons (1-3, 0-2). Emma Blankenship also had 1 assist and goalkeeper Grace Griffin posted a shutout without a save.

St. Charles North 8, Hinsdale Central 0: The North Stars (4-0-1) scored 7 goals on the Red Devils in the first half en route to a lopsided nonconference win. Hailey Rydberg's 2 goals and 2 assists led North while Gia Wahlberg also supplied 2 goals. Sami Rydberg, Claudia Najera, Chloe Netzel, and Kellie Callaghan each had one goal while Claire Barresi, Kelly Smith and Jordan Karom each dished out 1 assist. Goalie Sara Maleski posted 1 save on 14 shots to grab a shutout.

Aurora Central 2, Harvest Christian 0: Shannon LoPresti and Alexa Orozco each scored in a nonconference win over the Lions. Amy Flores added an assist for the Chargers (2-1-2) and keeper Alex Montalbano recorded her second shutout of the season with 3 saves.

Batavia 2, Nazareth 1: Goals by Gracey DiBiase and Zaira Solis in nonconference action gave Batavia its third-straight win and improved the Bulldogs to 3-1-1 overall.
