Kaneland shuts out Hampshire; D-C wins

The Kaneland girls soccer team improved to 3-0 overall Monday during a 4-0 nonconference win against Hampshire.

Abby Taylor (2 assists) and Rachael Lutter (1 goal, 1 assist) led the way while Lindsay Penkala, Taylor Carlson and Abbie Lomahan all provided goals. Erin Ball also had an assist as the Knights scored 3 times on the Whips (1-2) in the second half.

Dundee-Crown 5, Montini 1: At the Elk Grove tournament, Katelyn Skibinski dominated the Broncos with 4 goals to lead the Chargers (2-2) to victory. Irene Martin scored D-C's other goal while Autumn Seaton, Rylee Quillen, Braylin Mensik and Libby Griffin each had assists. Freshman keeper Reyna Duron supplied 3 saves.

Bartlett 1, Oswego 0: The Hawks (2-1) took home a nonconference win in dramatic fashion thanks to Paige Bednarke's header in the 79th minute.

Aurora Central 1, Willows Academy 1: Amy Flores cashed in on a penalty kick with 8 minutes left for ACC (1-0-1) to come away with a tie in nonconference action. Keeper Alex Montalbano kept the Chargers in it with 6 saves in goal.

Cary-Grove 3, Lake Zurich 3: Despite a 3-1 first half lead, the Trojans (0-1-2) and Bears concluded this nonconference game in a tie. Kelly Stayart led Cary-Grove with 1 goal and 1 assist while Maddie Jannusch and Maggie Mason each tallied goals. C-G goalkeeper Lauren Passaglia provided 4 saves.
