Baseball: Elk Grove rallies past Bartlett
Elk Grove's Zach Schwartz plated 2 runs on a single in the seventh inning to help tie it up against Bartlett, and the Grenadiers won their season opener 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth on an error in a nonconference baseball matchup Saturday.
Matt Crimmins had a pair of hits for Elk Grove, and Sebastian Garza walked twice and scored twice.

Barrington 10, Maine South 8: It didn't look good for the host Broncos, who trailed 7-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.
After that sixth inning, it was a very different story. Barrington scored 8 runs to come from way behind and pull out a nonconference victory against the visiting Hawks.

Palatine 9, Leyden 5: Jack Hopper and Max Myszka both drove in a pair of runs, Jack Betz had a pair of hits and the visiting Pirates (3-1) made good use of 5 walks and 3 Leyden errors in nonconference play.
Christian Tokarz finished 2-for-3 with a double and Alex Duarte drove in 2 runs for Leyden.
Starter Nicholas Anforth got the win for Palatine, and Jason Rivera tossed 3 innings of effective relief.
