Caleb Thomson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and earned the win on the mound, as Vernon Hills' baseball team beat Northridge Prep 10-6 for its first victory of the season on Thursday.
Thomson pitched 3 innings. He allowed 5 runs but none were earned. Jack Peterson threw 2 innings in relief for the Cougars.
