Boys swimming: Dellorto, Petro, Schillinger earn MSL swim recognition

Josh Dellorto (Rolling Meadows), Michael Petro (Hersey) and Alex Schillinger (Fremd) have earned Mid-Suburban League Swimmer of the Year honors.

All three are senior competitors who recently concluded highly successful prep swimming endeavors.

Petro and Dellorto share the honor for the Mid-Suburban League's East Division.

Petro won both the 200 IM and 100 fly the last two seasons at the MSL meet, and earned runner-up finishes at the state meet in those same events in his junior season.

Dellorto excelled in his season year, setting a conference meet record in the 100 freestyle to cap a four-year run which included four straight trips to the state meet.

Schillinger, a two-time state meet veteran, won the 100 breaststroke at the MSL meet the last two seasons and helped Fremd to both MSL West and overall conference titles in both years.
