Chicago Red Stars announce 2018 NWSL schedule

The Chicago Red Stars released their 24-game schedule for the National Women's Soccer League season, with the club opening the season on the road against the Houston Dash on March 25.

The Red Stars will host their home opener on March 31 against the Portland Thorns as the second game of a doubleheader that starts with the Chicago Fire hosting the Portland Timbers.

Chicago qualified for the playoffs last season for the third straight year, finishing 11-6-7 with 39 points before losing to North Carolina in the semifinal round. This season will mark Chicago's 10th year as a professional soccer club.

The 24-game NWSL schedule requires teams to face each other three times during the season. Chicago will host two games apiece with Portland, Orlando, Houston and Sky Blue FC.
