Harvest Christian advances to sectional final

The Harvest Christian girls basketball team advanced to Friday's Class 2A Bureau Valley sectional final with a 53-39 win over Seneca Monday.

Alyssa Iverson had a game-high 16 points to go with 6 rebounds and four 3-pointers. Elena Porrata poured in 12 points on four 3s as well and grabbed 4 steals.

The Lions (27-4) will look to grab back-to-back sectional titles in a rematch against Winnebago, who downed Spring Valley Hall in the nightcap 47-43. The Lions own a 63-53 win over Winnebago from a matchup on Jan. 18.

Aurora Central 52, Wheaton Academy 20: At the Class 3A St. Francis regional, the No. 7 Chargers dropped No. 10 Wheaton Academy for the opportunity to play top-seeded Glenbard South Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
