Balance works in Wauconda's favor

Wauconda's boys basketball team produced balanced scoring and limited visiting Round Lake to 3 points in the second quarter on the way to a 62-49 victory Tuesday in Northern Lake County Conference play.

Connor Brannick (14 points), Jimmy Ott (13) and Donovan Carter (12) led the scoring effort for Wauconda (5-9, 3-2). Matthew Nolan finished with 17 rebounds, and Carter contributed 4 steals and made a pair of 3s.

Round Lake (0-15, 0-5) was led by a game-high 19 points from senior forward Lucas Hollingsworth.

Antioch 45, Vernon Hills 33: Branden Gallimore scored 12 points, Austin Andrews added 10, and the visiting Sequoits won in NLCC action.

Dan Filippone had 9 points for Antioch, which improved to 5-6.

Vernon Hills fell to 5-11.
