St. Charles East, Geneva post wins

Justin Hardy scored 26 points, pulled down 17 rebounds and had 6 assists as St. Charles East's boys basketball team outlasted Hinsdale Central 70-68 in double overtime in the opening round of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic Wednesday night.

Jude Clodi added 13 points for the Saints (8-3) and Zach Robinson had 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Geneva 58, Niles Notre Dame 51: Mitch Mascari scored 21 points as Geneva won in the opening round of the Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic. Jack McDonald and Jack Hood added 12 points each for the Vikings (7-3), who play Prospect in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Aurora Christian 65, Prairie Central 37: Jake Wolfe scored 20 points to lead the Eagles (10-0) to a win in the opening round of the State Farm Classic in Bloomington. Daniel Stevens added 10 points for AC.

Harvest Christian 58, Rockford Christian 50: Jack Nohava had 22 points and Logan Jones added 14 for Harvest (8-2), which advanced to the semifinals of the E.C. Nichols Tournament at Marengo.

Ridgewood 51, Hampshire 50: At the Chuck Dayton Classic in DeKalb, Collin Woods and Justin Anderson led Hampshire (2-7) with 11 points each. J.D. Shaw added 9 points for the Whip-Purs.

St. Edward 47, Fenton 39: Will Gaston had 19 points and AJ Franklin added 17 for St. Edward (10-3) at the ICCP/Westmont tournament.

Elgin 64, Round Lake 44: In a consolation bracket game of the E.C. Nichols Holiday Tournament at Marengo, Trey Yarber led the Maroons (2-8) with 17 points. Roy Panthier added 12 to the win and John Fortmann had 11.

Kaneland 65, Hinckley-Big Rock 42: Blake Feiza hit for 31 points as the Knights (3-8) won in the consolation bracket at the Plano Christmas Classic. Luke Brost and Rhett Espe had 10 points each for Kaneland.

Streamwood 74, Chicago Kennedy 62: At Jacobs' Hinkle Holiday Classic, Nik Sinik had 19 points and Lamont Cole 17 for Streamwood (6-8).

Johnsburg 72, Cary-Grove 70 (OT): Also at the Hinkle, Beau Frericks led Cary-Grove with 12 points. Addison West added 11 for the Trojans (5-7) and Frank Jakubicek had 10.

DeKalb 59, Huntley 50: Cory Knipp had 13 points for Huntley (1-8) at the Chuck Dayton tournament in DeKalb.
