Weber eclipses 1,000 as Kaneland wins Ottawa tourney

Tournament MVP Jenni Weber scored 26 points and eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her career Saturday as the Kaneland girls basketball team defeated Lincoln-Way West 71-56 to win the Ottawa Holiday Tournament championship.

Joining Weber on the all-tournament team for the 11-2 Knights was Jamie Martens, who had 18 points in the title-game win.

Aurora Christian 67, Larkin 39: Alex Fry hit five 3-pointers and scored 20 points in leading the Eagles (8-4) to a nonconference win. Tori Henning added 15 points for AC while Danielle Lopez scored a career-high 14. Brianna Young led Larkin (2-9) with 17 points.
