Buffalo Grove, Barrington come out on top

Senior guard Jack Vaselaney hit a 15-foot jumper with 0.2 left to lift Buffalo Grove's boys basketball team past Glenbrook North 61-59 in a nonconference matchup Friday.

The game was close the whole way and was tied at 44-44 entering the fourth quarter.

Vaselaney and classmate Mac Camardo led all scorers with 17 points for the host Bison (6-5).

Vaselaney had a big fourth quarter, draining 2 of his 4 threes and finishing with 10 points in the period. Camardo was most effective in the first quarter, when he had 4 baskets.

BG's Caleb Mayhorn finished with 14 points, which included a pair of 3s along with 6-for-7 at the foul line.

"Both teams executed and performed at a very high level," said Buffalo Grove coach Keith Peterson. "Extremely proud of how our guys battled and kept fighting until the end."

Next up for the Bison is a 10:30 a.m. Wednesday game against Dundee-Crown in Wheeling's Hardwood Classic.
