Windy City Bulls win on the road

The Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, grabbed their third road win of the season with a 110-105 victory over the Canton Charge Friday night in Ohio.

Antonio Blakeney paced the Bulls with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Tyler Harris scored 23 points, which tied his career-high, and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Jaylen Johnson registered his second consecutive double-double with 18 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Ryan Arcidiacono pitched in with 14 points and 6 assists.

Canton scored the game's opening basket, but that is the only time they would lead. Windy City responded with a 12-2 run and led for the final 47 minutes of the contest. As a team, the Bulls shot 60 percent in the quarter, aided by Antonio Blakeney who scored 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting. The Charge closed the period scoring the final two baskets, but Windy City led 31-21 entering the second quarter.

Seven players scored in double figures for Canton. JaCorey Williams poured in a team-high 19 points while 13-year NBA veteran Kendrick Perkins tallied 14 points and nine rebounds. London Perrantes, who ranks seventh in the league in assists, scored 12 points and added 10 assists, while Gerald Beverly registered a double-double of his own with a 10-point, 10 rebound performance.

The second quarter featured a back-and-forth battle as neither team could swing the game in their favor. The Bulls couldn't extend the lead beyond 12 and Canton couldn't come closer than five. Both teams shot the ball well, but Windy City outscored the Charge 31-29 in the quarter. The Bulls extended their 10-point first quarter lead and led by 12, 62-50 at halftime.

The Bulls found their groove in the third and opened the quarter with an 11-0 run. Windy City enjoyed their largest lead of the night on a Blakeney dunk to put them up 23. The Charge answered with a 12-0 run of their own to trim the lead to 11 with just over four minutes to play in the quarter. Despite the third quarter push, the Bulls would maintain their double-digit advantage, and led by 12 heading into the final 12 minutes.

The Charge inched closer with a 5-0 spurt to start the fourth quarter, but Windy City would re-take a double-digit lead halfway through the period. Canton made one final push and made it a one-possession game with under a minute to play. Antonio Blakeney responded with a personal 4-0 run, giving the Bulls a six-point lead. Windy City scored five of the final seven points to secure their third road win of the season.
