Rolling Meadows wins third straight

Visiting Rolling Meadows won for the third straight time and squared its overall record at 4-4 with a 53-43 win over Wheeling in Mid-Suburban East boys basketball play Friday.

Rolling Meadows improved to 2-1 in divisional play after winning for the fourth time in its last five games, while Wheeling dropped to 3-7 overall and 0-3 in the East.

Hersey 54, Elk Grove 40: Rocco Ronzio had a game-high 18 points to help visiting Hersey come away with a 54-40 victory in Mid-Suburban East play at Elk Grove.

Helping lead the way for the Huskies (4-6, 2-1) were Davis Belford (11 points), Jason Schmidt (10) and Joe Nugent (8).

Elk Grove slipped to 0-10 and 0-3.

Maine West 58, Maine East 39: The host Warriors won four the fourth straight time and improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the Central Suburban North.
