Boys swimming: D300 team prevails at St. Viator Invite

The District 300 boys swimming team took top honors in the six-team invitational hosted by St. Viator on Wednesday.

D300 finished with 304 points, with Prospect (249) in second place and the host Lions (228) in the third.

D300's Harold Ogaban and Elijah Stuart both won twice individually and had a pair of winning relay legs.

Ogaban won the 200 free in 1:50.23 and the 100 back in 55.42, while Stuart was tops in the 50 free (23.39) and 100 free (51.29).

On the medley relay, Ogaban and Stuart joined Eric Boysen and Reid Coyle in 1:43.10, and on the 400 free relay it was Vince Chiappetta, Stuart, Boysen and Ogaban.

St. Viator senior standout Michael Balcerak had winning efforts in the 200 IM (1:56.5) and the 500 free (4:43.56) and joined Michael Ruben, Marcus Lannie and Tyler Coupe on the top 200 free relay (1:33.54).

Prospect's top finish came from senior Jake Kosinski, who won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.08.

Boysen was a winner for D300 in the 100 fly (56.25), just ahead of teammate Alec Orndahl (56.80). Orndahl also placed second in the 100 back (57.47).

Ruben was second in the 200 free (1:56.01) and third in the 100 fly (57.36) for the host Lions.
