Hersey goes 3-2 in Bison Classic

Hersey's girls basketball team completed a winning record in the Bison Classic at Buffalo Grove on Saturday by defeating Harlem 52-43 in the final round of the six-team event.

Senior Erin McGrath led the Huskies (3-2) with a career-high 22 points while classmate Claire Rogowski connected for 15, including a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter.

Freshman guard Mary Kate Fahey chipped in 7 points while seniors Katie McGrath and Maesyn Benjamin each had 4.

Buffalo Grove 64, Barrington 35: Sophomore guard Macy Floro delivered a career-high 17 points with two 3-pointers as the Bison earned their first win on the final day of their own six-team Bison Classic. Senior Alyssa Floro added 10 points, followed by Kendra Lee (9), Sydney Fortman (7) and Zori Angelova (5)

BG made six 3-pointers, getting two apiece from Macy and Alyssa Floro. Heidi Schmit and Angelova each made one Megan Fontanetta and Sam Hansen also made it into the scoring column for the Bison (1-4).

Barrington (1-4) was led by sophomore Taylor Thompson (10 points) while Anna Mae King chipped in 7, including a 3-pointer.

Tori Meyer and Shannon Turczynski each had 2 baskets for the Fillies.

Stevens Point 72, Rolling Meadows 54: Rolling Meadows (3-3) lost to Stevens Point Area Senior High School - the No. 9-ranked team in Wisconsin's Division 1 - at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout in Brookfield, Wis.

The Mustangs were led by Lily Greifenstein (15 points), Melissa Spiwak (13 points), Bridget Rolla (12) and Alexa Davis (11).
