Women's volleyball: Eastfield denies Harper's repeat

Harper College's bid for a repeat national championship in women's volleyball came up short on Saturday in Rochester, Minn.

The top-ranked Hawks fell to the team ranked No. 2 in the country, Eastfield (Texas).

Eastfield prevailed 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17 in the NJCAA Division III championship matchup.

Harper (37-6) was led on attack by Ellie Burzlaff (15 kills) and Sarah Udoni (11 kills).

Emily Huprich had a team-best 38 assists for coach Bob Vilsoet's team, and Ariana Chelini and Huprich both had 12 digs.

Eastfield (28-7) got a 15-kill effort from Keishia Reyes.
