Girls volleyball: Batavia, St. Charles North earn wins

Batavia's girls volleyball team concluded Upstate Eight River play Tuesday night with a 25-8, 25-11 win over Streamwood.

Hannah Yaconis had 8 kills and Jenna Garrett 15 assists and 6 digs to lead the Bulldogs (15-12, 3-3).

Sam Juarez added 5 aces and 3 digs while Maddy Boyer and Cordelia Smith had 4 kills each for Batavia.

St. Charles North d. West Chicago: Abby Graham, Katie Lanz, Gigi Crescenzo and CJ Johnson had 5 kills each to lead the North Stars (25-3) to a 25-9, 25-13 UEC crossover win. Amanda Parker added 4 kills, 6 assists had 3 and 2 aces, Lanz had 3 aces and 9 assists and Johnson contributed 5 assists to the win.

Kaneland d. Sycamore: Sheika Mushunduzi had 9 kills and 9 digs and Katie Jablonski added 6 kills and 12 digs as Kaneland downed Sycamore 25-19, 25-19 in the Northern Illinois Big XII East. Also contributing for the Knights were Sydney Fedderly (14 assists), Shelby Hannula (11 assists), Julianna Vassallo (20 digs) and Grace Franz (3 blocks).

Burlington Central d. Harvard: Maddie Lenschow had 7 kills while Brittany Parks added 4 kills and 4 aces to lead the Rockets (18-10, 10-0) to a 25-7, 25-10 Kishwaukee River win. Madison Leone added 2 kills and 4 digs for BC, Gabby Soto had 13 assists, Olivia Smith 3 kills, Stephanie Rodriguez 3 aces and Madison Williams 3 digs.

McHenry d. Dundee-Crown: Tarrah Kamp had 5 kills, Claire Muhvic 4 kills and 3 assists and Irene Martin 4 kills and 9 digs for D-C (4-15, 1-13) in its 25-14, 25-10 Fox Valley Conference loss. Jenna Brown added 10 assists and 6 digs for the Chargers and Zoe Sitarz had 8 digs.

Huntley d. Hampshire: Maggie Seagren and Lucy Magnussen each had 4 kills for Hampshire (10-14, 3-10) in a 25-20, 25-18 FVC loss to Huntley. Riley Seagren added 3 kills and 3 digs for the Whip-Purs while Sophie Holts had 8 assists and Abby Dedina 7 digs.
