Boys soccer: Dundee-Crown edges Prairie Ridge in OT

In a showdown of Fox Valley Conference unbeatens, fourth-ranked Dundee-Crown came out alive in overtime against Prairie Ridge (13-1, 4-1) by a slim 1-0 margin, as Gerardo Estrada provided the late heroics in the 88th minute.

Jimmy Karl conjured up the game-winning assist while goalkeeper Damian Smiech's 6 huge saves earned D-C a shutout and a 12-0-2 record to go with its 4-0 mark in the FVC.

Elgin 4, Geneva 1: The No. 9 ranked Maroons put on the jets in the second half with 3 goals to down Geneva in Upstate Eight River action at Memorial Field Tuesday. Pablo Perez helped break a 1-1 halftime tie with his second and third goals of the game while Omar Lopez added an insurance goal. Ola Ajayi and Cristopher Colin each had assists while Martin Jimenez in goal notched 8 saves.

Streamwood 7, Larkin 0: Oscar Chavez (1 assist) led the game off with a hat trick and Aldo Lazaro (1 assist) followed with his own in order for the Sabres (10-4-1, 3-0-1) during a lopsided UEC River win at Millennium Field. Alex Chavez provided Streamwood's other goal while Jorge Bracamontes supplied 2 assists. Alex Herrera and Jose Ibarra also added assists while keeper Daniel Dominguez posted his third shutout in a row with 3 saves.

CL South 2, Jacobs 1: The Gators forged a big win in FVC action over the No. 18 ranked Golden Eagles at the Swamp, as Alex Canfield's second half goal supplied CLS the upset. Oscar Campos also scored for CL South (7-8-1, 1-3) while Brandon Wilson and Brad Grabowski added assists. Jacobs (9-5-1, 3-1) saw John O'Connor score while Colin Walsh connected on the assist.

St. Edward 4, Chicago Christian 0: The Green Wave upped their record to 19-0 with a win in Palos Heights, which broke a school record for most consecutive wins. Riding the momentum of a PepsiCo championship win, AJ Franklin (1 assist) scored a hat trick to total 48 goals on the season while Josh Johansen had 1 goal and 2 assists. Carlos Ibarra had an assist and keeper Evan Sajtar's 12th shutout came on 5 saves to get the Wave to 5-0 in the Metro Suburban Red.

Kaneland 6, LaSalle-Peru 1: Tucker Jahns' hat trick led the way for the Knights (10-3-2, 2-1-1) in NI Big 12 crossover action. Zach Smith included 1 goal and 1 assist while Brian Bartholomew and Ulysses Herrera added goals. Devin Pieczynski had 1 assist to help Kaneland on the road.

Hampshire 2, Marian Central 0: In nonconference action, the Whip-Purs (7-5-3) benefited from Michael Curatti and Braeden Frenette's goals to down the Hurricanes. Keeper Andrew Krajecki needed 7 saves for the shutout.
