Girls volleyball: Barrington tops Conant in two sets

Barrington's girls volleyball team raised its record to 8-4 and 2-1 in the Mid-Suburban West with a 25-18, 25-21 triumph over visiting Conant on Wednesday night.

Peyton Tilly (7 kills), Bailey Madrzyk (6 kills, 2 aces) and Andi Capel (5 kills, 8 digs) led the Fillies' attack. Tara Kozak (6 assists, 2 blocks), Kate Shechtman (5 blocks, 2 kills) and Suzana Andrade (6 digs, 3 aces) were other key contributors for the winners.

Conant (5-11, 1-2) received 5 kills from Kristina Loznjakovic. Leading in blocks were Bella Dipaolo (5) and Chikere Oduocha (3). Yuri Hara (12 digs) and Amanda Klingsporn (11) led the back row while Fiona Fennelly collected 10 assists.

Maine West d. Vernon Hills: The Warriors (7-4, 1-1) defeated the visiting Cougars (3-9, 0-2) in the CSL North match 25-16, 25-23 as Reilly Olson and Angela Dugalic led West with 6 kills apiece. Ally Block handed out 11 assists, and Sophia Saldana collected 12 digs.
