Girls volleyball: St. Charles North, Burlington Central post wins

Gigi Crescendo had 6 kills and 2 aces while Katie Lanz added 5 kills and 7 aces Tuesday to lead the St. Charles North girls volleyball team to a 25-5, 25-14 Upstate Eight River win over Streamwood.

Amanda Parker, Brigid McCarthy, Kelly Jakaitis and Olivia Bambach added 3 kills each for the North Stars (10-2, 4-0).

Burlington Central d. Marengo: Madison Leone had 10 kills and 5 digs while Brittany Parks added 8 kills and 8 assists to lead the Rockets (6-5, 3-0) to a 25-23, 17-25, 25-15 Kishwaukee River win. Also contributing for BC were Gabby Soto (12 assists, 2 kills, 1 ace), Kathryn Schmidt (3 kills, 1 ace, 1 block), Katie Lomas (4 assists, 16 digs) and Emily Voss (2 kills).

CL South d. Hampshire: Jamie Maule (10 digs), Megan House (8 kills), Aurora Nero (6 kills) and Emily Slimko (15 assists) led Crystal Lake South (3-3, 3-3) to a 25-18, 25-21 Fox Valley Conference win. Hampshire (5-7, 1-5) was led by Gianna Garza with 7 kills, Riley Seagren with 6 kills and 2 blocks, Lucy Magnussen-with 4 kills, Sophie Holts with 11 assists and Bella Sobota with 13 digs.

CL Central d. Dundee-Crown: Jenna Thelen (3 kills), Irene Martin (3 kills, 4 digs), Jenna Brown (2 kills, 6 assists) and Zoe Sitarz (4 digs) led Dundee-Crown (4-8, 1-6) in a 25-9, 25-16 FVC loss.

Huntley d. McHenry: Julia Johnson had 10 kills and Taylor Jakubowski added 33 assists and 20 digs to lead the Red Raiders to a 25-16, 19-25, 28-26 FVC win. Loren Alberts added 6 blocks for Huntley.

DeKalb d. Kaneland: Sheika Mushunduzi had 7 kills and Katie Jablonski 14 digs to lead Kaneland in a 20-25, 25-20, 25-17 Northern Illinois Big XII East loss. Shelby Hannula added 5 kills and 9 assists for the Knights (15-4) while Sydney Fedderly added 14 assists and Julianna Vassallo 12 digs.
