Barrington handles New Trier

Barrington 36, New Trier 9: Quarterback Ray Niro and running back Michael Curran ran for touchdowns to put Barrington up 14-3 at the half, and the Broncos continued on for a 36-9 victory over host New Trier in a nonconference matchup Friday.

Niro's run was a 26-yarder near the end of the first half.

He later hooked up on a 69-yard scoring strike with Jake Parsons, and on a 43-yarder to Johnny Gagne.

Barrington improved to 3-0, while New Trier dropped its second straight in falling to 1-2.

The Broncos conclude their regular-season matchups against Central Suburban League foes by hosting Glenbrook South next Friday.

New Trier will journey to Conant (1-2) for its Week 4 contest.
