Dundee-Crown, Jacobs set hall of fame inductions

Dundee-Crown and Jacobs high schools have set their annual recognition ceremonies for the new inductees into their respective halls of fame.

The Jacobs High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct and honor its Class of 2017 and Class of 2016 on Friday, Sept. 8, with a dinner fundraiser, induction ceremony, and announcement at halftime of the evening's football game.

Meet and greet time begins at 4:30 p.m. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. in the Jacobs High School cafeteria. Tickets cost $25 per person and are available by calling Pat Peas at (847) 532-6152. Dinner tickets must be purchased before Sept. 1.

All are welcome at the induction ceremony which begins in the Jacobs auditorium at 6 p.m., and both classes will be announced at halftime of the school's varsity football game against Crystal Lake South.

The Class of 2016 includes Crenden Keller, (coach, teacher, administrator) and Maria Tamburrino, 2010, (golf, basketball, soccer). The Class of 2017 includes Joe Zimka, 2005, (soccer, football, baseball); Tammy Krysh, 1995, (golf, basketball, soccer, track); and Kelly Edwards, 1987, (cross-country and track).

•Dundee-Crown will recognize its 2017 Hall of Fame class at the Oct. 6 football game and they will be inducted at a dinner reception on Oct. 7.

The dinner reception will be at 5:30 p.m. at Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin.

The 2017 Hall of Fame class includes Matt Lynch, 1991 (football, basketball); Vince Neal, 1997 (cross-country, track, swimming); Gary Peters, 1962 Dundee (football, baseball, basketball); Ryan Court, 2006 (baseball, basketball, indoor track, soccer); and, Douglas McConnell, 1975 Dundee (swimming).
