Boys soccer: Keenan's strike lifts Lakes past Highland Park
Max Keenan scored the winning goal late in the match, and Lakes' boys soccer team rallied in the second half to edge Highland Park 3-2 in opening-round action of the North Shore Shootout at Lake Forest on Tuesday.
Jeff Milostan scored twice for the Eagles, who trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Milostan headed in Adam Hagman's cross to get Lakes on the board, then scored the equalizer about 10 minutes later. With just a few minutes left in the game, Lakes midfielder Andrew Gataeno hit a corner kick that skipped to the far post, where Keenan tucked the ball into the net from a yard out.
Jeyson Vasquez and Mason Kimbarovsky gave Highland Park a 2-0 lead just 10 minutes into the match.
Lakes resumes the tournament on Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start against Dundee-Crown.
Dundee-Crown 3, Lake Forest 1: At Lake Forest, the host Scouts got its lone goal from Jake Danneker.
Lake Forest will play Highland Park in Thursday's consolation bracket.
