Baseball: Timothy Christian, Metea Valley, Wheaton Academy win

Timothy Christian 2, St. Joseph 1:

The Trojans (18-10) scored twice in the top of the seventh to rally to victory in the Class 2A Timothy Christian regional final. Nick Huisman struck out 12 and allowed 2 hits in 6 innings to earn the win, and Jimmy Allen got the save with a scoreless seventh.

Metea Valley 9, Waubonsie Valley 6:

After Waubonsie Valley (16-17) took a 6-5 lead with a 4-run bottom of the sixth, Metea Valley (16-17) took control with 4 runs in the top of the seventh. Cade Sullivan went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI. Mitch Reyes was the winning pitcher in relief. Nick Lamoso and Zach Laws each drove in 2 runs for the Warriors.

Wheaton Academy 3, Genoa-Kingston 0:

Winner Payton Sowa pitched a 4-hitter with 4 strikeouts and a walk for the Warriors (8-14) in the Class 3A Burlington Central regional quarterfinals. Jake Koslosky had 2 RBI and Jimmy Paganis went 2-for-3.

Bolingbrook 4, Naperville North 3:

Jack Ginzkey homered and drove in 2 runs and Brendan Lacey went 2-for-4, but the Huskies (13-18) fell in the Class 4A Oswego East regional quarterfinals.

Conant 8, WW South 2:

The Tigers (13-21) were eliminated in the Class 4A Bartlett regional quarterfinals. Joe Adamek went 4-for-4 while Brad Novak had 3 hits and 2 RBI.

Downers North 4, West Aurora 3:

Nolan Young's 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Trojans (18-15) a walk-off victory in the Class 4A Plainfield South regional quarterfinals. Winning pitcher Tyler Rosen struck out 11 and allowed no earned runs in a complete game.

Hinsdale South 2, Romeoville 1:

A walk-off RBI single by Mike Stoltz in the bottom of the seventh advanced the Hornets (17-13) into the Class 4A Hinsdale South regional semifinals. Charlie Klemm was the complete-game winning pitcher.
