Softball: St. Charles North's Webb spins perfect game
Maddie Webb threw a 5-inning perfect game and added 2 hits with an RBI Thursday as St. Charles North downed Elgin 14-0 in an Upstate Eight River softball game.
Webb struck out 9 as the North Stars moved to 17-9 on the season and 11-6 in the conference.
Jordyn Wolfe had 4 hits with a double and 2 RBI while Ashlyn Jozefowicz added 3 hits including a triple and 3 RBI to lead the SCN offense. Allison Moberg had a double and 2 RBI, Grace Quinn added 2 hits and an RBI and Jessica Wilson had a double and an RBI.
Burlington Central 2, Johnsburg 1: Danielle Yurgil had 2 hits including a double while Kristina Ahlers, Reily Gardner and Sarah Schmitt added 2 hits each to lead the Rockets (16-8, 10-2) to a Kishwaukee River win. Julia Barnes (13-6) earned the win in the circle.
Riverside-Brookfield 4, ACC 3: Isabell Gonzalez had 4 hits while Altheia Valazquez added 3 hits including a home run for Aurora Central (11-13, 5-8) in their Metro Suburban loss. Danielle Brown also homered for the Chargers.
St. Charles East 5, Downers North 3: Paige Ligocki hit 2 home runs and Rylee Stout added a round-tripper as the Saints (27-7) won this nonconference game. Jordan Hieber added 2 hits with a double for SCE and Delaney Devor earned the win in the circle.
Jacobs 12, South Elgin 6: Grace O'Malley (3 RBI), Emily Pena (2 RBI) and winning pitcher Savannah Svedman (3 RBI) each hit home runs for Jacobs (14-12-1) in this nonconference game. Alexis Addante, Kerri Healy and Gaby Silva each doubled for the Golden Eagles. Mariah Spivey had a home run and Casey Brennan (3 hits) doubled for South Elgin (17-13).
DeKalb 13, Larkin 3: Haley Bohne had 2 hits and an RBI and Alexa Urbanik doubled for Larkin in a nonconference defeat.
Yorkville 8, Hampshire 5: Renee Malecke (2 RBI) and Delaney Rummell each had 2 hits for Hampshire (22-10) in its nonconference loss. Gwen Malecke added 2 hits for the Whip-Purs.
CL South 14, Streamwood 0: Christina Toniolo (2 hits, 2 RBI) had a home run while Emily Sulikowski had 2 doubles and 4 RBI to lead the Gators (16-13) to a nonconference win. Sam Schetti and Carly Chovanec each added doubles for Crystal Lake South. Chloe Skorija was the winning pitcher. Streamwood fell to 11-14 with the loss.
