Boomers come up short against Windy City

Despite allowing only 3 hits to the host Windy City ThunderBolts, the Schaumburg Boomers suffered a 3-2 setback Wednesday morning in Crestwood.

Schaumburg led 2-0 after scoring runs in the first and third. David Harris doubled in both frames, scoring on a 2-out single from Seth Spivey in the first and a 2-out single from Kenny Towns in the third.

Windy City tied the game with a run in the third and a homer from Larry Balkwill in the fifth. The winning run came across in the seventh without a hit.

Lars Liguori allowed just 2 runs in 5 innings in his season debut. Austin Kerr suffered the loss in relief, dipping to 1-1 on the year.

The series concludes with a third straight day game on Thursday morning at 10:35 a.m.
