Softball: Bihun's bat belts 3 homers in Conant win

Conant senior Morgan Bihun, a Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit, belted 3 home runs as the Cougars softball team defeated host Rolling Meadow 18-2 in six innings on Tuesday.

Bihun went 3-for-5 with 8 RBI to lead the Cougars' 16 -hit attack in the Mid-Suburban league crossover.

Other multiple hitters for Conant were Jackie Burchfield (5-for-5, double), Makenna McCarthy (2-for-4, double), and Delaney Szwed (3-for-5), who also belted a homer. Ally Lira and Paige Nallen also contributed doubles for Conant, which improved to 14-4 and 8-2.

Conant senior Sam Gadomski (3 innings, 7 strikeouts) and junior Jackie Carlucci (3 innings) combined for a 6-hitter.

Meadows junior outfielder Parker Cavanaugh belted her first varsity homer with a 2-run blast in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Multiple hitters for Meadows (6-17, 1-9) were senior Amanda Elkins (2-for-3) and sophomore Stephanie Thompson (2-for3).
