Girls soccer: St. Charles North stays unbeaten

St. Charles North 5, Streamwood 0: The St. Charles North girls soccer team (13-0-3, 4-0-1) remained unbeaten after a commaning 5-0 win over Streamwood in Upstate Eight River action. Gia Wahlberg mounted a hat trick while Ashley Hayes and Sarah Andrey netted goals. Hailey Rydberg dished 2 assists and Isabella Falco and Claudia Najera each had 1. Leanne Stahulak earned a shutout despite no saves.

Elgin 2, Lake Park 0: Brenda Acuna and Guadalupe Sanchez were too much for the Lancers in nonconference action. Both players scored and assisted on each other's goals for Elgin (9-6-4) while keeper Hannah Erickson's shutout comprised of 5 saves.

Burlington Central 12, Marengo 1: In a Kishwaukee River cresting of sorts, Zoey Kollhoff tallied 4 goals in a big victory for the Rockets (15-2-2, 9-0). Jordan King and Kyrsten Pellikan totaled 2 goals and 2 assists each while Jessica Clouser added 2 goals and 1 assist. Megan Majewski (2 assists) and Sydney Pryor also added goals. Anna McMahon had 2 assists while 1 each came from McKenzie Freeman and Alyssa Mariani. Goalie Abbi Ciganek recorded a shutout in net without any saves.

CL South 11, Hampshire 0: The Gators (13-1-1, 4-0) upped their win streak to 7 and snacked on the Whip-Purs in FVC action. Jess Schoenfeldt's hat trick of goals and assists compelled her to a 9-point performance. Jenna Ross wasn't far behind with 2 goals and 2 assists while Courtney Sengstock had 2 goals and 1 assist. Margaret Fitzpatrick also collected 2 goals while Taylor Bittenbender and Emily Warren rounded out the scoring.

Huntley 4, McHenry 0: Brenna Keegan bookended the Red Raider (7-5, 3-3) scoring during a FVC win. Lauren Talesky and Tayah Owens added goals while Alyssa Xanos had a team-high 2 assists. Sam Heustis and Savanna Zoellner registered 1 assist each and keeper Abbey Brown needed just 1 save for the shutout.

Dundee-Crown 2, CL Central 0: Sam Christensen and Katelyn Skibinski each found the net in a FVC win over the Tigers (7-8, 4-3). Rylee Quillen added an assist and Diana Santillan-Ceja's shutout consisted of 6 saves.

Aurora Central 3, Ridgewood 1: The Chargers (10-4-2) watched senior Gina Cortino cap off senior night with 2 goals in Metro Suburban action. Shannon LoPresti also scored for ACC while Anna Dudziak added 1 assist. Captain Natalie Bruce led a Charger defense that helped keeper Alex Montalbano notch 6 saves.

Harvest Christian 4, IMSA 1: Emily Halter's 2 goals led the Lions (8-5-4, 5-1) to a Northeastern Athletic win and at least a share of the conference title for the second straight season. Also scoring goals were Amanda Moore (1 assist) and Abby Lopez while Taylor Keeran, Sonja Jenkins and Rebecca Gafrick all assisted. Goalkeeper Isa Garcia managed 10 saves.

Westminster Christian 3, Schaumburg Christian 0: Johanna Siers had 2 goals in a Northeastern Athletic win for the Warriors (9-5-1, 6-1). Hailey Kim added Westminster's last goal while Lizzie Latoundji, Lexi Kuhlmann and Anna DeHaan each had assists. Goalie Grace Bickford's 3 saves were good for a shutout.

Bartlett 1, West Chicago 1: Tabitha Evans managed a second half goal for the Hawks (8-7-3, 2-0-2) who ended this UEC Valley match in a tie. Brooke Bednarke spotted the lone assist and Teagan Noesen had just 1 save in net.

Kaneland 1, Sycamore 1: Holly Collingbourne's goal for the Knights (9-6-1, 2-3-1) in the first half was all Kaneland could get on the board in a NI Big XII East tie. Abbie Lomahan provided the only assist in a preview of a possible Sycamore regional final matchup.
