Girls soccer: Smith's effort lifts Grayslake Central

Girls soccer

Joslynn Smith had 2 goals and 2 assists, as Grayslake Central's girls soccer team defeated Lakes 4-1 in Northern Lake County Conference action Thursday.

Madeline Mussay also scored twice for the Rams.

Lake Zurich 2, Lake Forest 0: Kristin Brousseau had a goal and an assist, and Madison Hart made 10 saves in earning the shutout for the Bears in the North Suburban match.

Maddy Piggott also scored for Lake Zurich (13-3, 3-1). Samantha Hartman had an assist.

Libertyville 2, Stevenson 1: Bryn Miller scored both goals for the Wildcats in their North Suburban win.

Miller buried a direct kick on the 18-yard box and then finished off an assist from Emily Olson.

Jill Steinbrink scored off an assist from Hannah Lapeire for Stevenson (2-6-2, 1-3).

Mundelein 1, Warren 1: Alliyah Parker scored for Warren with Kaitlyn Chomko earning the assist.

Warren (11-1-1, 3-0-1) remained undefeated in the North Suburban.

Carmel 8, Vernon Hills 2: The Corsairs received 2 goals apiece from Gianna Sarallo, Olivia Salvi and Skyler Thomas.

Haley Miller and Maddy Splitt also scored for Carmel in the nonconference match. Angie Salvi added a pair of assists. Lily Sykes and Grace Nolan had assists as well.

Antioch 5, Round Lake 1: Morgan Keefer netted a hat trick and added an assist for the Sequoits in the Northern Lake County match.

Ella Roberts and Karly Monaco also scored. Tessa Furlong, Bekah Cartlidge and Rachel Moore contributed assists, as Antioch improved to 12-4-2 and 3-1.

Carmel 1, Marian Central 0: On Wednesday, Riley Harmon scored in the second half off an assist from Gianna Sarallo.

Sophia Sarkis earned the shutout in the East Suburban Catholic Conference match.
