Boys volleyball: Lakes still perfect in Northern Lake County Conference
Lakes d. North Chicago: Lakes moved to 16-9 on the season and stayed unbeaten in Northern Lake County Conference action (6-0) with a 25-15, 25-18 sweep.
Jacob Deener had 8 kills and 2 aces while setter Jake Keenan had 20 assists and 2 aces.
Grayslake Central d. Grant: Keegan Zack rolled up 14 kills to lead Grayslake Central to a 3-set victory, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21.
Matt Kosikowski had 4 blocks and 5 kills for the Rams, who also got 14 assists from Matt Kozak and 12 digs from Jameson Loeffler.
Deerfield d. Vernon Hills: Vernon Hills pushed Deerfield to three sets but lost, 27-29, 25-16, 25-20.
Jake Adkisson had 12 kills and 10 digs while Derrick Jones added 7 kills.
Setter Jake Fiarito had 27 assists for the Cougars, who got a team-high 14 digs from Sammy Adkisson.
Vernon Hillsis now 6-12 overall.
Grayslake North d. Antioch: Grayslake North had good offensive balance as Al Hartigan, Brandon Lebaron, Austin Martineau each had 7 kills in a 25-19, 16-26, 26-24 victory.
Setter Nick Anello had 26 assists and 9 digs while Bryan Melgoza added a team-high 26 digs. Martineau had 19 digs.
Grayslake North is now 4-11 and 2-4 in the Northern Lake County Conference.
