Boys water polo: Perfect finish for Barrington seniors in MSL West

Barrington's boys water polo team honored its 10 seniors, who then completed a perfect run through the Mid-Suburban West with a 19-9 victory against visiting Palatine on Monday.

The Broncos - with seniors Jack Krieps, Mitch Gavars, Colin O'Leary, Scott Robinson, Kyle Mitchell, John Fischer, Colin Kerr, Aaron Hornback and Pat Foersterling - improved to 21-2 overall and finished 10-0 in the MSL West. They'll meet East Division champ Buffalo Grove in next week's MSL title matchup.

Kerr and O'Leary both had 3 goals to pace the Broncos, and T.J. May had a game-best 6 goals for Palatine (4-18, 3-7).

• Junior R.J. Quinn had a game-high 5 goals to help Hersey complete its MSL East slate with a 19-5 victory over Wheeling.

Jack Casey and Brian Prior also had 3 goals apiece for the Huskies (16-8, 8-2), who wrapped up a second-place divisional finish.

• Conant (12-8, 7-3) finished alone in second place in the MSL West after getting a 14-2 victory over Hoffman Estates (2-25, 0-10).

• Fremd improved to 12-10 overall and 6-4 in the West after outlasting Schaumburg (9-12, 4-6) in overtime, 8-5.

• Prospect (11-13, 6-4) earned a third-place finish in the MSL East by topping Elk Grove 11-4. The Grens slipped to 9-14 and 4-6.
