Girls soccer: Elgin, Bartlett post wins

Elgin's girls soccer team won twice Friday at the Prospect tournament, defeating Prospect 2-1 in penalty kicks and then downing McHenry 2-1.

Against Prospect, Guadalupe Sanchez scored Elgin's goal in regulation, assisted by Brittany Dazzo. Hannah Erickson had 9 saves in goal.

In the win over McHenry, Kylie Graves had both goals for the Maroons (5-5-3) and Makenna Downing had an assist. Erickson made 2 saves in the net.

Bartlett 2, Oak Park-River Forest 1: Carrigan Sablik and Jessica Mirsky scored the goals for Bartlett as the Hawks won their opening-round game of the Naperville Invite. Sarah Jurek and Jenna Dombrowski added assists for the Hawks (7-5-1) while Teagan Noesen and Nykia Wetterman combined for 5 saves in goal.
