Softball: Batavia's Lisberg throws perfect game

Jaelen Lisberg threw a 5-inning perfect game Wednesday as the Batavia softball team defeated Elgin 12-0 in Upstate Eight River action.

Lisberg struck out 9 and didn't walk a batter.

Allison Bahlmann had a double and 3 RBI while Molly Costigan had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs to lead the Bulldogs' offense.

Larkin 16, East Aurora 4: Jenny Beltran had 3 hits and an RBI while Mackenzie Malone (2 RBI), Haley Bohne (2 RBI), Sophie Young (2 RBI), Alexa Urbanik (RBI) and winning pitcher Kiara Villa each added 2 hits to lead Larkin (3-11, 2-5) to a UEC River win. Jessica Avila also had an RBI for the Royals.

Geneva 12, Glenbard East 0: Molly Wrenn tossed a 2-hitter for the Vikings (12-2, 6-0) in this UEC crossover. Alyssa Kramer had a home run for Geneva while Katie Keller and Wrenn each doubled.

Bartlett 10, Fenton 0: Amber Pagan threw a 2-hitter and had 3 hits with a double and 4 RBI for Bartlett (11-5-1) in its nonconference win. Dani Kleeman had 4 hits with a double and an RBI for the Hawks and Charlotte Linnartz added 3 hits with a double and 3 stolen bases.

Jacobs 3, CL South 0: Savannah Svedman allowed just 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks as Jacobs (7-4-1, 2-2) won in the Fox Valley Conference. Jess Mrzlak and Emily Pena had 2 hits each for the Golden Eagles. Christina Toniolo took the loss for Crystal Lake South (8-5, 2-3).

Prairie Ridge 4, Dundee-Crown 1: Deanna Origer had 2 hits and Claire Weeks added a double for D-C (7-5, 2-3) in the FVC.

Huntley 6, Cary-Grove 3: Huntley scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to remain undefeated in the FVC. Sofia Tenuta (2 hits, 2B, HR, RBI), Teagan O'Rilley (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Autumn Kasal (RBI), Rylie Poretto (2 hits, RBI), Caitlin Brown (2 hits) and Tiffany Giese (2B) led the offense for the Red Raiders (9-4, 5-0). Giese was the winning pitcher, allowing 6 hits with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. Jill Deering had 2 hits with a home run and Kelly Johnson added 2 hits for Cary-Grove (1-8, 1-4).

St. Edward 10, Rockford Lutheran 6: Paige Jones had 3 hits and 2 RBI for St. Edward (5-10) in nonconference action. Also contributing for the Green Wave were Jackie Boyston (2 hits, 2B), winning pitcher Jessy Kramp (HR, 3 RBI) and Ashley Miller (2 hits, 3 RBI).
