Girls soccer: Krueger, Lake Zurich roll past Waukegan

Lake Zurich 8, Waukegan 0: Rachel Krueger scored 3 goals and added an assist, and Lake Zurich's girls soccer team blanked host Waukegan 8-0 in North Suburban Conference action Tuesday.

Kristin Brousseau added a pair of goals, while Rebecca Kubin, Mikayla McCreary and Kyra Ripoli each had a goal and an assist. Tara Frank and Maddy Piggott also had assists.

Madison Hart (2 saves) and Claire Jones (1 save) shared the shutout for Lake Zurich (7-2).

Mundelein 8, Zion-Benton 0: Amanda Bogseth and Leah Goldman each scored twice, and Myah Strokosch had a goal and 2 assists for the Mustangs in the North Suburban match.

Kristi Chernesky, Emily Ollendick and Molly Mishler also scored. Lexi Pawlowski and Stephanie Zeiger shared the shutout.

Lake Forest 1, Stevenson 0: Hannah Petrich had 10 saves for the Patriots, which surrendered the only goal in the first half of the North Suburban match.

"Both teams had the better play against the wind," Stevenson coach Kevin Heffernan said. "It was a tale of two halves. We just need to put together two solid halves."

Warren 2, Libertyville 0: Alliyah Parker and Kaitlyn Chomko scored for the Blue Devils (9-1) in their North Suburban opener.

Alissa Ramsden and Courtney Chomko had assists, and Skylar Reilly had 3 saves in net. Defenders assisting in the shutout were Jamie Kwon, Maddie Gryzik, Natalie McNally, Jess Dietzen and Becca Pineau.

Grayslake Central 3, Grant 0: Madeline Mussay scored twice and added an assist - all in the second half - as the Rams won the Northern Lake County match.

Joslynn Smith had the other goal.

Grayslake North 2, Lakes 1: Lauren Davis scored 20 seconds into overtime off a pass from Sydney Paez to lift the Knights in the North Lake County contest.

Davis also scored in regulation for Grayslake North (4-2-2) after settling a punt from keeper Emily Dunne.

"We are incredibly happy with the result tonight," Grayslake North coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "That was a very hard-fought game against a quality Lakes team that managed to keep us under a lot of pressure throughout a majority of the game."
