    Sunday against Dallas, Brad Richards had what coach Joel Quenneville said was his best game in a Hawks uniform. And it couldn't have come at a better time as Richards' wife, son, mom and dad were all at the United Center to witness his 1,000th game in the NHL.

    The White Sox upgraded their bullpen on Tuesday, signing 31-year-old lefty Zach Duke to a three-year, $15 million contract. Duke was 5-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 4 relief appearances with the Brewers last season.

    The Chicago Fire announced Tuesday it has re-signed veteran midfielder Patrick Nyarko. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Nyarko was paid a base salary of $265,000 in 2014, according to the MLS Players Union, the third highest salary on the club.

    NFL suspends Peterson for at least rest of season

    The NFL suspended Adrian Peterson without pay for at least the remainder of the season. The league said Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, it informed the Minnesota Vikings running back he will not be considered for reinstatement before April 15 for violating the NFL personal conduct policy.
