Turnquist spent his entire career at Ellis Middle School after growing up just a few blocks away. The teachers' union has already ratified the deal. Rodriguez lined a clean single up the middle to score Paige Allen from third base with the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Storm beat the Maroons 4-3 in the semifinals of the Class 4A St. Charles North regional. Police responded to reports of shots fired at about 1:35 a.m. and found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg near Jefferson Avenue and Porter Street, according to officials. The injured man was taken to Sherman Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, police said.
