"People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society," said famous Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi.

As a member of the Daily Herald photo staff for the past 20 years it still amazes me how the gatherers of tomorrow's copy, in the newspaper, are able to take today's events and work together to mold a product, which hopefully informs and educates its readers.

During my years at the Herald, I have shot a lot of professional and high school sports.

In the 1990s, it was always a thrill to be sitting on the Chicago Stadium floor, photographing the greatest player in the history of sports, Michael Jordan. It was a special time in the history of the city to be able to capture and preserve these magical moments.

Shooting the Chicago White Sox 2005 World Series Championship was another opportunity I am thankful to be a part of. Seeing the chemistry of that team gel and dominate the Houston Astros "Deep in the Heart of Texas" was incredible.

Having graduated from the University of Missouri, it was a thrill to go back this past year and see how much the campus has upgraded itself, and how the bright and passionate students are working together in the field of journalism.
