Bob LeGere has been covering the Chicago Bears and the NFL for the Daily Herald since 1993. Prior to that, he worked at Pro Football Weekly for 12 years covering the NFL.

He grew up in Elmhurst following some horrible Bears and Cubs teams.

Unfortunately he is old enough to remember the Bears' 1963 world championship, and the memory of the Cubs' collapse in 1969 is still a bitter one.

He spends way too much time at ESPN.com, paying particular attention to Len Pasquarelli's NFL stories.

Jan 10 2017 | 6:06 am - The Bears’ off-season signings of unrestricted free agent inside linebackers Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman created more buzz than their addition of five-year veteran defensive lineman Akiem Hicks. But the 6-foot-5, 336-pound Hicks was...

Breaking down the Chicago Bears’ offensive line

Jan 08 2017 | 6:30 pm - The criticism of the Bears’ offensive line, and specifically the tackles, was unwarranted given their play in 2016. The O-line could turn out to be a team strength next season.
