North Central College presenting annual MLK Day events

North Central College in Naperville is presenting a series of in-person and virtual events as part of its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week.

Activities begin 3 p.m. Sunday at Wentz Concert Hall with Chicago Sinfonietta's tribute concert, "Joie de Vivre." Tickets can be purchased at the North Central College website.

Monday's MLK Vision Day speaker will be Geneace Williams, Naperville's manager for diversity, equity and inclusion. A prayer luncheon will be broadcast live on North Central College's YouTube channel.

There also will be an MLK Teach-In on Monday conducted on Zoom and community service projects during the afternoon. There will be a worship service Tuesday at Koten Chapel, a virtual screening of "Summer of Soul" on Wednesday and an event honoring civil rights leaders Thursday at the Harold and Eva White Activities Center.

North Central College's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week is sponsored by Nicor Gas and BMO Harris Bank.
