Fremd High School principal moving to District 211's main office

Kurt Tenopir, principal of Fremd High School in Palatine, will become assistant superintendent for administrative services in Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 on July 1. The board of education approved the appointment Thursday.

Tenopir, who has been principal of Fremd since 2014, will be in a new position being created amid a restructuring of the district's upper administration due to several approaching retirements.

Tenopir began his career in District 211 as assistant principal at Fremd High School in 2011.

Prior to coming to District 211, he was an assistant principal for instruction at Deerfield High School from 2008 to 2011 and an assistant principal at Belvidere High School from 2005 to 2008.

Tenopir began his teaching career in 1998 as an English teacher at Grand Island High School in Nebraska before moving onto Belvidere High School as an English teacher in 2001.
