New Hangar Two brewpub in Glenview captures area's history

A tasty pairing of Glenview history and forward-thinking brewpub debuted with the ribbon-cutting of Hangar Two, 1100 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Glenview, on Jan. 13.

Tangled Roots Brewing Company's new restaurant is inspired by the former Glenview Naval Airbase.

Matt Scholes, chief marketing officer of Tangled Roots' parent company CL Enterprises, had said that the Tangled Roots team worked with the Hangar One Foundation to “capture parts” of the area's history, integrated into the restaurant's design.

Approximately 20 people attended the ribbon cutting, a blend of representatives from the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, Tangled Roots and CL Enterprises. After the ribbon cutting a VIP reception was held in the new restaurant, in the Abt Design Center space where Jolane's restaurant operated for more than a decade before closing in May 2020.

“It's an awesome day, this is a really cool spot,” said Scott Struchen, Tangled Roots founder and chief commercial officer. “So many people come through Abt, it's just going to open our doors and give us exposure to so many more people.”
