2 deaths, 146 new COVID-19 cases in Glenview and Northbrook in past week

Two people died of COVID-19 and 146 tested positive in Glenview and Northbrook Oct. 14-20, Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported.

There were 94 new cases in Glenview and 52 in Northbrook during that time.

In Glenview, 1,152 people have tested positive and 52 people have died since the pandemic began, including one death in the past week. In Northbrook, 687 have tested positive and 43 have died, one in the last week.

In the previous week, Oct. 7-13, Glenview cases increased by 49 and Northbrook cases increased by 39, and there were no new deaths.

Suburban Cook County had 75,957 cases and 2,350 deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. In Chicago there were 90,500 cases and 3,019 fatalities.

Suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties had reported 155,350 COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday. That's 44% of the state's total, according to the IDPH.

There have been 4,339 deaths in the suburbs, representing 47% of all COVID-19 deaths in Illinois.
