Fabyan Woods cleanup set for Sunday

A team of volunteers plans to gather Sunday to help clean Fabyan Woods near Batavia.

The Batavia Environmental Commission will be part of the event that runs from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at Fabyan Woods South at the corner of Route 25 and Fabyan Parkway, just south of the bridge and along the river trail.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help pick up trash, pull weeds, remove branches, lop branches or cut down trees. Long pants, closed-toed shoes, work gloves, safety glasses, long sleeves, bug spray and masks are encouraged.

Snacks, coffee and water will be provided. The event will be canceled if inclement weather hits on Sunday.
